Wellbeing at Roundhill opened its doors in January 2022 and is located in the heart of Fordingbridge on the edge of the New Forest National Park. Originally the site of a Quaker Meeting House which dates back to the late 17th Century, the existing building is almost 200 years old and has a fascinating history having been a school, an auction house, a ceramics studio and, more recently, a Pilates and Physiotherapy Centre.
In the studio you are welcome to join a variety of regular classes including Pilates, Biodanza and Yoga as well as Sound Healing meditations, Qi Gong, Tai Chi and other group sessions.
You can also access a diverse range of healing and therapeutic sessions such as physiotherapy, Shiatsu, Bowen Technique, Cranial massage and much more in our two treatment rooms. You can find our comprehensive list of therapies here
The studio and treatment rooms are available for hire at competitive rates.
Mila runs and owns Wellbeing at Roundhill with his wife Sarah and their two daughters. Mila qualified as a teacher of Biodanza in 2012 and became a didactic teacher in 2019. He runs regular Biodanza sessions in Fordingbridge for beginners and more advanced practitioners. Since 2007 he has also worked in the field of activity provision for older people and people living with dementia and has worked with many care homes across the south of England providing activity sessions for residents as well as training staff in techniques of meaningful engagement. Mila also has a passion for improvised comedy and runs workshops in the Wellbeing at Roundhill studio.
Sarah spent many years working in the care sector with older and less able people. A back injury sustained at work provoked a move into supporting young adults with challenging behaviour, until she had her daughters in 2008 and 2012. Having struggled with recurring back issues throughout this period, Sarah tried Pilates and soon realised that it was an effective way to overcome back problems as well as offering many other benefits.
Sarah was so inspired by her teacher, Stuart Ward and the deepening sense of mind-body connection that comes from Pilates practice, that she decided to take the leap and embark upon the Matwork teacher-training at Bodywise in 2016. After qualifying in 2017 she joined the Roundhill teaching team, she also teaches at Bodywise and Fitness Design in Salisbury.
Sarah has also been inspired by many teachers including the work of Ruthy Alon and trained in 2018-19 as a Movement Intelligence Practitioner. In 2020 she discovered Karin Gurtner and Tom Myers’ Slings and Myofascial training and in 2024 received her foundation level teacher training qualification.
Sarah aims to make each lesson informative, meditative and fun! She hopes to help clients deepen their own sense of mind-body connection and to let go of the stresses of modern life, with the aim that a little of each session travels on with the client in their daily lives.
Hazel has been teaching within the fitness industry for over 20 years, originally as a freelance aerobics Instructor teaching a wide variety of classes including bodypump, bodybalance, step, spinning and a range of body conditioning classes. She first took an interest in Pilates after an injury incurred whilst teaching a high impact aerobics class. Hazel fell in love with Pilates and the whole concept of it. Her interest in Pilates grew and still continues to do so. She is a qualified Body Control Pilates teacher.
Hazel took a further interest in rehabilitation and wanted to help people with specific problems and
injuries. She was fortunate to be offered work in a rehabilitation clinic where she had the opportunity to work with neck and back patients and sports related injuries, all of which worked so well together with her previous training and Pilates teaching. Hazel believes Pilates is a great form of exercise for everybody, seeing the benefits in individuals from seniors to sportspeople to anti/postnatal women to rehabilitation.
Stewart is a full time Pilates and Karate teacher. Since having two spinal surgeries (2011/2012) , he became obsessed with Pilates, the human body and how he could help others to get the best out of theirs. Stewarts says “after surgery, I thought I was broken beyond repair but my surgeon told me that I needed to take up Pilates. With my Karate background I really didn’t think Pilates had anything to offer me but, I was struggling to rehabilitate so I swallowed my pride and gave it go. Pilates has rejuvenated my life and I can safely say, it helped me achieve my lifelong ambition of becoming European and World Karate Champion (2016/2017).
It has been a struggle, but one that has taught me the importance of never giving up on my dreams, dedication and trusting the process.
I put my success down to what Pilates has taught me and I truly believe that everyone’s lives would benefit from learning what Pilates has to offer.
Hi, I’m Kayleigh.
I am a qualified level 3 Body Control Pilates instructor and my pilates journey started over 5 years ago. For as long as I can remember, I have always been active. From the age of 5 my parents encouraged me in Gymnastics where I became a passionate elite gymnast. My love for gymnastics grew, leading me to pursue and obtain my Level 1 Gymnastics coaching qualification. I coached for many years and am grateful for the experience I have gained but it was time to focus on my career.
During this time, I realised I had become swept up in the day to day life of work, eat, sleep, repeat and I was missing the active lifestyle I once had. I tried the Gym and some classes but found that I was missing direction, knowledge and my goals seemed unattainable. After a conversation with my dad, he introduced me to Pilates. I started classes and my mind was blown. I now felt that same passion from all those years ago, with new understanding and many more questions to be answered. I knew immediately that this was something I wanted to explore. Since then, I have qualified in my level 3 Pilates matwork and it has taught me so much about myself and my body. It has continued to challenge me, inspire me and give me confidence in moving my body safely, whilst gaining strength and mobility and I want to help people do the same.
A keen dancer from the age of 5, Pennie was introduced to Pilates after having her second child in 2002, by a former Roundhill Pilates Instructor, Catherine. Completely hooked and recognising the benefits to post-natal recovery ( and ante-natal health for her further pregnancies) Pennie continued Pilates developing her Matwork experience further complementing it with Reformer and equipment work. This also assisted her strength and flexibility in dance, and general health and mind-body connection. A shoulder operation was followed with a recovery programme through Physiotherapy and Pilates and introduced Pennie to the post-operative rehabilitative powers of Pilates. Running her own business she found Pilates helped her manage the strains and stresses of working life and balance it with a busy family life. She finally took the plunge and started her Pilates training with The Pilates Foundation at Bodywise in January 2020 and was fortunate to be able to continue the training throughout the Covid pandemic. Her aim is to encourage people to move more easily increasing & maintaining their strength and flexibility, find the mind-body connection whatever the ability of the body, and whatever age the person and to help bring it into their everyday life.

I have been in the healing arts for more than 35 years, with numerous qualifications over the decades. Now concentrating on teaching and facilitating Sound Therapy training courses and meditations. I have really enjoyed travelling around South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand for 10 years making new friends, loving different cultures and food. The highlight of course was teaching Sound Therapy in Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam and New Zealand.
A new chapter now opened for me as I returned home to The New Forest in 2020.
So I’m delighted to be amongst a family of beautiful spiritual people, friends and therapists at Wellbeing at Roundhill.
Zai Yi has been practicing the art of Tai Chi and deep meditation since living in Beijing at the age of seven. With sixty years of experience and now living in the UK, his sole intentions are to share his knowledge and experience with his students and to see the people around him become healthier and happier.
We feel very privileged to have him teaching here at Wellbeing at Roundhill
I received my 1st treatment at age 6, when my father was studying shiatsu. I was his guinea pig. Some of the movements and techniques he taught me, I am still using today. At age 19 I did a 3-week shiatsu boot camp living-sleeping and studying under the same roof in Antwerp -Belgium. It was a complete immersion from 6am in the morning till 9-10pm in the evening. After that I got busy with Life and shiatsu disappeared from my radar for a while, until I had a devastating burnout and health crisis 12 years later.
Shiatsu, Qi Gong and Do Inn ( a form of Self Shiatsu) helped me to slowly recover in such depth as my body was completely over sensitive and cramped up with stress. I had a couple of injuries in the back and neck and tinnitus in both ears. It was the only therapy I could tolerate, after trying so many. It was the combination of soothing touch , yet deep profound pressure and deep Hara breathing that brought me back to Life. I have maintained my own daily Qi Gong and Self shiatsu practice ever since.
From that point I embarked on a study as a practitioner and therapist with Oliver Cowmeadow for more than 3.5 years in the UK. Oliver has set up the Devon Shiatsu and International Macrobiotic School near Totnes in Devon. Nowadays I am living and actively practicing as a shiatsu therapist in Ringwood and Fordingbridge.
